Slow Cooked Beef Short Ribs

If you are looking to do very little hovering over the stove and want your meat falling off the bone then don’t I have THEE perfect recipe for you.

The thing I love most about this meal is once you start braising the beef, you can go ahead and run your errands, read a book, relax or do whatever your heart desires for 3 hours. Of course if you have a pressure cooker that can cut down the cook time then I highly suggest you go for it! If you don’t have a pressure cooker, I hate to break it to you, there isn’t a short cut around this long cook time.

The braising method being used in this recipe will help get your beef super tender and flavourful. Braising means to simmer a protein in a liquid for a long amount of time on low heat in order to make the meat tender.

  • 1/2 kg of Short Ribs
  • 1 big onion sliced

  • 1 & 1/2 cups of vegetable stock
  • 3 Sprigs of Rosemary
  • 8-10 Sprigs of Thyme
  • 3 Bay Leaves
